Program for the next months:
January - December 2019

A) Monthly silent retreat with meditation
Each weekend of the second Saturday of the month, from Friday evening 6 pm to Sunday morning 9 am

Join us in a time of intense silence, built around prayer and meditation.
We sit mainly in silence (rhythm of 25 minutes sitting meditation + 5 minutes walking meditation).
We share the meals together in silence. Simple accommodation.
Please bring your mat, cushion or bench (chairs are available at DCH), your sheets and some food to be shared (contact us for better co-ordination).

For more detail about this time of silence, click here
B) Monthly community days with a theme
We are a group of about 5 to 10 people who meet regularly.

Community days happen generally on the fourth Saturday of the month, but there is none if there is a workshop in the same month (workshop considered as a community day).
We have a working bee in the morning (from 9am for 9.30 start) and share then lunch at 12.30; in the afternoon we share about a theme. Each one brings a dish to share.
You may also come only for the working bees or only for the sharing, or for both.

C) Seminars and retreats about a theme
Some are facilitated by us, others are facilitated by people we have invited.

Change: At the last AGM, we have decided to have the workshops starting already on the Friday evening (5pm) and finishing earlier, on the Sunday morning (9am). Let's see how it goes.

Fri. 22 - Sun 24 FebruaryFrom Fri. 5pm to Sun. 9amThe Power of the Powerless
Facilitator: Yves de Morsier

Inspired by a text by Vaclav Havel (ex-"dissident" and ex-President of the Czech Republic)
- the whole text "The Power of the Powerless" to be downloaded here (47p) with introduction or the complete version (47p)or the short version (extracts only - 7p) or to be sent to you.
Our true power is not imposing; it relies on our ability to live in the Truth. It is not very different if we live under a totalitarian system or if we live in a materialistic society, whether our search is focused on a social-political level or on a metaphysicalspiritual path. The price to pay is certainly not the same in these different cases, but these are the same desires and forms of attachment that prevent us from finding simplicity and freedom. When we are free to live in the Truth, we acquire the simple power of the powerless.
We will investigate how to find a leading vision or guide for our life and we will search together for tools how to live in the Truth and to become free.
Cost: DCH donation plus contributing some food to share.

Fri. 24 - Sun 26 MayFrom Fri. 5pm to Sun. 9amGoing deeper: Money, Work, Generosity 2
Facilitator: Yves de Morsier

Some participants have asked to go back to some themes of previous workshops in order to deepen the material that had been provided and to see how to practise what had been expressed or discovered.
We propose to come back to the material of the workshop about Money, Work and Generosity (document to be downloaded here or to be sent to you) because it is one of the most urgent themes today that involve action in our daily lives.
We will briefly review the material and look at how we can translate into practice (into a new way of living) the precious values we have discovered, which are so much in contradiction with the general trend of our society geared to egocentric greed, competition and wish for accumulation.
Cost: DCH donation plus contributing some food to share.

September 2019
Fri. 13 - Sun. 15 SeptemberFrom Fri. 6 pm to Sun. 9 amSilent meditation
Fri. 27 - Sun 29 SeptemberFrom Fri. 5pm to Sun. 9amSurrender or Fight
Facilitator: Yves de Morsier

Awareness means clear-sightedness and discernment. We know that, in order to live in peace, we need to accept the world as it is and to love what is. Yet we cannot tolerate injustice and oppression. How do we then find the right balance between discernment and judgement, between surrender and fight? This is a fine line.
We will investigate what is meant by "will of God" and which role evil plays in our lives. What is authentic surrender? When do we have to discern? When do we have to judge the actions of others? How do we distinguish between the persons and their attitudes or acts? When do we have to fight and resist? Trust, faith and hope are evidently dimensions of this form of authentic surrender.
Cost: DCH donation plus contributing some food to share.

November 2019
Fri. 8 - Sun. 10 NovemberFrom Fri. 6 pm to Sun. 9 amSilent meditation
Fri. 22 - Sun. 24 NovemberFrom Fri. 5pm to Sun. 9amA Manifesto and a Covenant for a meaningful Life in a fracturing World
Facilitators: Yves de Morsier and David Oliphant

We live in a time when truth seems to be so flexible that anything goes. It is then essential to dare to affirm what is central in our lives. We have tried to do this exercise (which is not simple at all). Out of this attempt a text has taken shape. (A few documents can be downloaded here or be sent to you. The manifesto consists in:
    1) The Manifesto (2p) as a short summary of central values and a commentary (50p) that develops the main ideas;
    2) A project of Covenant for Australia (1p summary + 9p explanations),
    3) An example of Covenant (6p) like a contract between the participants, in which each one of us is invited to define to what he or she wants to commit.
There is unity in the core of the manifesto (the values) and diversity in the terms of the covenant (the expressions) because each one is free to commit to what they want. This is a way to find unity in a few core values and to invent diverse ways of expression of how we can translate these values into daily life.
We will investigate these core values, with the possibility of rewriting the manifesto if it should be adapted. Then, in a second part, we will see what we wish to propose as personal commitments which could become the terms of the covenant. It is evident that each one is free to commit, or not, to anything that is proposed. There will be no pressure to be involved more than you wish to.
The result could be a new version of the manifesto (if necessary) and a new covenant for each of the participants (if they wish to).
Cost: DCH donation plus contributing some food to share.
